The legislative committee is essentially the IPA’s government liaison arm. This group develops the legislative strategy for our tax incentive and is the liaison between the IPA and our lobbyist. The committee also collaborates with other IPA committees on areas that may tie in to city or state government, such as TIF incentives or state grants for business development.

At the pinnacle of our legislative committee efforts is the Illinois Film Production Services Tax Credit Act. With the help of the Illinois Film Office, SB 785 was passed, taking effect on January 1, 2004. This legislation provides an unprecedented tax credit to production work done in Illinois.
